Description

These Glow-in-the-Dark Cotton Candy Cookies are the ultimate party treat! Soft, chewy, and bursting with sweet cotton candy flavor, they glow under UV blacklight thanks to tonic water. Perfect for Halloween, neon parties, or a fun baking experiment

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cookies:

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cotton candy flavoring
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ cup tonic water (for the glowing effect!)
  • Neon food coloring (pink, blue, or green)

For Decoration (Optional):

  • Edible glitter or neon sprinkles
  • Cotton candy pieces

Instructions

1. Cream the Butter and Sugar

In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This creates a soft and chewy cookie texture.

2. Add Wet Ingredients

Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and cotton candy flavoring. Slowly stir in the tonic water—this is the key to the glowing effect!

3. Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.

4. Add Food Coloring

Divide the dough into separate bowls and mix in different neon food colors (pink, blue, green, etc.). Swirl them together slightly for a fun marbled effect!

5. Shape and Chill

Scoop out small dough balls and place them on a lined baking sheet. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to prevent spreading.

6. Bake the Cookies

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 8-10 minutes. They should be soft but set at the edges.

7. Cool and Test the Glow!

Let the cookies cool completely. Turn off the lights, grab a UV blacklight, and watch the magic happen!

Notes

  • Use a strong UV LED blacklight for the best glowing effect.
  • Don’t overbake these cookies should stay soft and chewy.
  • Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
