Description

These Churro Cheesecake Bars combine the crispy, cinnamon-sugar-coated texture of a classic churro with a rich, creamy cheesecake filling. With layers of flaky crescent dough and a generous dusting of cinnamon sugar, this dessert is an irresistible treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Cinnamon Sugar

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Cheesecake Bars

  • 2 (8-oz) packages refrigerated crescent roll dough or sheets
  • 16 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

2. Preheat and Prepare the Pan

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of the cinnamon sugar evenly over the bottom.

3. Layer the First Crescent Dough

Unroll one tube of crescent roll dough, pressing the seams together to form a solid sheet. Lay it in the bottom of the pan, ensuring full coverage.

4. Make the Cheesecake Filling

In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Spread evenly over the crescent dough.

5. Top with Crescent Dough

Unroll the second crescent roll dough sheet, press the seams together, and place it over the cheesecake filling, covering it completely.

6. Add Butter & Cinnamon Sugar

Brush the melted butter evenly over the top layer. Generously sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered dough.

7. Bake & Cool

Bake for 26-30 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and puffed. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.

8. Slice & Serve

Once fully chilled, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For a crispier top, use a little extra cinnamon sugar.
  • Chill before serving for the best texture.
  • Use crescent dough sheets to avoid pressing seams together.
  • Try different toppings like caramel, chocolate, or ice cream.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
