Description

These Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Jello Shots are the perfect boozy treat for parties and celebrations! Fresh strawberries are hollowed out and filled with a deliciously smooth strawberry gelatin mixture spiked with vodka, then dipped in chocolate for an indulgent finish. They’re fun, festive, and easy to make ahead of time.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Jello Shots:

  • 20 large fresh strawberries
  • 1 box (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold vodka (or flavored vodka for extra taste)
  • 1/4 cup cold water

For the Chocolate Coating:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or melting chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening

Instructions

1. Prepare the Strawberries
Rinse and pat dry the strawberries. Using a small knife or melon baller, carefully hollow out the center of each strawberry, making sure to leave the walls intact. Set them in an egg carton or mini muffin tin for stability.

2. Make the Jello Mixture
In a bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. Add cold vodka and cold water, stirring well to combine.

3. Fill the Strawberries
Carefully pour the jello mixture into each hollowed-out strawberry. Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or until the jello is fully set.

4. Prepare the Chocolate Coating
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

5. Dip the Strawberries
Once the jello shots are set, dip the tops of each strawberry in the melted chocolate, then place them on a parchment-lined tray. Let the chocolate set at room temperature or refrigerate for 15 minutes to firm up.

6. Serve and Enjoy!
Carefully remove the strawberries from their holders and serve chilled. Enjoy responsibly!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try using flavored vodka such as vanilla or chocolate.
  • If you prefer a firmer jello texture, reduce the water slightly.
  • Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
