Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved lengthwise)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
For the Lemon Sauce:
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- ¼ cup dry white wine (optional)
- 2 tbsp capers (optional, for extra flavor)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken
Pat the chicken cutlets dry. In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.Sauté the Chicken
Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature). Remove and set aside.Make the Lemon Sauce
In the same skillet, melt 3 tbsp butter. Add chicken broth, lemon juice, lemon zest, and white wine (if using). Stir and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.Combine and Serve
Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and let simmer for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with capers and fresh parsley before serving.Enjoy!
